Overall, you could easily spend two weeks exploring Iceland but let’s take it easy and start with this 4-night break.

Day 1:

Arrive in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital and find your bearings. It’s easy to navigate your way around through the city, and you won’t have to look long for a nice restaurant or bar. The density is quite baffling.

Experience some delicious fresh sea food, you are in the North Atlantic after all and then hit a cosy bar to try some locally crafted beers.

Especially during the white nights of August when it doesn’t get dark, the atmosphere is lively, and the party goes on 24/7!

Come in winter and experience how the party hungry Icelanders meet the dark and the cold with warmth and a few glasses of beer in packed to rafter bars in the centre.

Stay in one of our stylish, scandi-cool boutique hotels in the centre. Enjoy first class hospitality and understated luxury.

Day 2:

Explore more of Reykjavik on a self-guided walking tour with a visit the iconic Hallgrímskirkja cathedral. Iceland’s landmark building is an architectural gem and a must see on every Iceland for Beginners tour. Afterwards stroll around the city, marvel at the unique mix of traditional and modern buildings and soak up the relaxed atmosphere.

On a wet day, and there are many, visit the Whales of Iceland – The Largest Whale Exhibition in Europe | Life-Sized Models | Audio Guide | Private Events | Guided Group Tours. See lifestyle models, interactive installation and have a full-on VR experience. And we don’t want to give too much away, but it is stunning!

Talking about stunning, in the afternoon it’s time to tick off one of Iceland’s honey spots, the Welcome To Blue Lagoon Iceland Resort & Spa | Blue Lagoon Iceland. A huge geothermal spa with the most stunning views, the Blue Lagoon is often described as one of the most beautiful places on earth. Although it’s busy it can’t be missed on any Iceland for Beginners break. Bring your swimming costume.

From November to March only: In the evening treat yourself to once in a lifetime trip and catch the Northern Lights. We offer this awesome experience as part of a small group coach tour or even more special, on a boat trip! Head out of Reykjavik with your guide and chase the dancing lights in the night skies. Wow factor again but do keep in mind that there no guarantees when it comes to natural phenomenon.

Day 3:

Today you discover some of Iceland’s most loved treasures on a Golden Circle Tour. Your guide picks up at your hotel and you head out into Iceland’s inland. First stop, Gullfoss.

Gullfoss is considered the queen of Icelandic waterfalls. Its powerful presence is an experience no one should miss as the waterfall cascades down to a deep gorge and is often crowned with a glorious rainbow. Wow factor! But don’t marvel too long as the world famous Geysir is next.

Iceland Tour 2022
Geysir is a geothermal area which is a showstopper. While the enormous hot spring Geysir is the king of this castle, the main attraction here is its more active brother Strokkur, erupting every few minutes in this picturesque setting. All set in a moonlike landscape it doesn’t get more stunning than this.

The last but certainly not least stop of the day is the Thingvellir National Park. This Unesco World Heritage Site is a unique place of visible geological wonders and the site of Iceland’s historical Viking parliament. Soak up the atmosphere, and if you followed the TV programme Vikings, you could just imagine how Floki felt when he settled here, allegedly. Marvel at the sites of magnificent glaciers and stunning fjords of the East.

Full of impressions our guide takes you back to Reykjavik. And don’t worry there’s always time to stop to take some amazing pictures en-route.

Day 4:

And for your last day we have saved something really special. Head out into the North Atlantic on small fishing boat to go Whale Watching. The experienced crew know the best spots where to find the emperors of the sea. Catching a sight of the mighty creatures gives you a deep feeling of nature’s balance and why it’s so important to conserve it. Picture yourself on one of these gently rocking boats coming within touching distance of these giants. A glorious and once in a lifetime experience.

Afterwards tick off some essential shopping in Reykjavik and tick off the remaining sites such the Harpa Concert Hall. Another award-winning architectural gem close to the old harbour where Ingólfsgarour lighthouse marks the perfect spot for some farewell pictures.

Let the experiences become memories and start planning your next trip where you will no longer be a Beginner in Iceland…
