CHOIR TOUR GALICIA
Inspiring choir tour
A Tailor Made Choir Tour to Santiago de Compostela is a once in a lifetime experience. It lets you combine experiencing a wonderful city with performing in a world known cathedral. To make it even better you can indulge in some fantastic food and explore the stunning Galician coastline.
There’s nothing more inspiring for choirs than going on tour and performing in some of the world’s most famous venues. In this case a performance in the stunning cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
Stunning Santiago
Rather than walking the Camino de Santiago we recommend flying out there. We pick you up from the airport and drop you off at the hotel. After a quick check in, it’s time to get a feel for Santiago. Whether you want to explore on your own or have a guided tour is up to you. Either way you won’t be able to miss the glorious cathedral. Here you will perform the next evening. Hold your breath, it’s impressive.
Santiago’s granite cathedral, an UNESCO world heritage is a magnificent site. Bernard the Elder began the construction of the Romanesque Cathedral in 1075. Though it took a mere 136 year to completion in 1211 when it was consecrated by Alfonso IX.
Although the fundamental medieval structure has been preserved, over the centuries the Cathedral has changed its appearance many times. Over the past one hundred years different actions have continued to be carried out. It’s breath-taking! Wait until you step inside…
More than a cathedral city
There’s much to this Spanish gem. As a major pilgrimage centre, Santiago has in fact numerous fine churches. Two of the loveliest are San Fiz with peg doll-style nativity figures and Santa Maria Salome featuring a heavily pregnant Madonna.
Meander through Rua do Vilars, Rua Nova and Rua do Franco.
Admire sturdy stone arcades, Renaissance courtyards and large imposing Baroque style buildings. Many of them belong to the 500-year-old university. In between you find the delightfully tiny rose-filled Praza de Fonseca. It gives way to the stage-set grandeur of the cathedral squares: Prazas Obradoiro, Quintana and Inmaculada.
Beside its history and culture Santiago is surprisingly lively. It hosts many affordably priced restaurants and a buzzing bar scene. The latter you will explore after your rehearsal! Try Santiago’s marvellous sea food or tuck in some hearty Galician stew!

Glorious natural beauty
The next day you take it easy, it’s your big evening after all. Escape the crowds to explore Galicia’s wind-buffeted coastline. We organise a guided day-trip to Cabo Finisterre, Spain’s very own Land’s End. On the way we stop by in some pretty fishing villages. Alternatively explore more of Santiago. In the evening it’s show time. After a small rehearsal the big moment has arrived.
Perform your heart out
On the next day while still buzzing we take you to maritime A Coruña and the region’s longest beach at Carnota. Here it’s time to unwind and enjoy the stunning coastline. Take a walk and listen to waves crushing in from the Atlantic. A magical end to your journey.
